The Scoring-Zone Circuit
Wasting good drives with a loose shot from 100–150 yards.
Set up
Mark three targets at roughly 100, 125, and 150 yards (or use range flags).
The reps
12 balls, rotating target every shot, never the same one twice in a row. Score a point for every ball that would finish on a normal green (±10 yards).
How you know it's working
7 of 12 'greens hit' — well above the mid-handicap average from these distances.
Why it works
From 150 and in, you're supposed to be attacking. If this zone leaks, pars turn into doubles even after your best drives.
The evidence
Arccos/Stagner: from 150 yards a 20-handicap is about 10× more likely to make double-or-worse than a scratch player — this zone is where blow-ups are born. The rotating-target format is contextual interference in action: harder in practice, better on Saturday.
