Narrow-Target Tee Shots
Big misses off the tee that lead to penalties and re-tees.
Set up
Pick the narrowest target window on the range. Play 'fairway or not' for each ball.
The reps
14 tee shots (one per driving hole of a round), full routine each time. Track your in-window percentage.
How you know it's working
Beat your on-course fairway rate by aiming at a smaller window than a real fairway.
Why it works
You don't need longer — you need to shrink the two-a-round misses that cost a stroke each. A specific window forces a committed target on every swing.
The evidence
Stagner's Arccos analysis: penalty strokes are the quiet scorecard killer — even 10-handicaps rack up 3+ penalties in a quarter of their rounds. Aiming at a defined external window also applies the external-focus research: target-focused swings outperform mechanics-focused ones.
